The Keen AI Accountant Start a brief

Accounting,
the way it'll be done in
five years.

I'm a Chartered Accountant who works AI-native. I help Australian accounting practices and in-house finance teams everywhere do the same. Train your team. Implement with you. Advise on retainer.

Why now

AI changed accounting in 18 months. Most practices are still running 2018 workflows. The ones that adapt now will own the next decade.

I cracked AI-native delivery on real Australian compliance work. BAS, IAS, super, FBT, year-end. Then on global finance work. Close, board packs, recons, vCFO support.

Now I help practices and in-house teams do the same, in their own stack, with their own standards.

Who I help

Two audiences. One method.

If you sign off on financial work, this is for you. The compliance side is Australian-specific. The finance-team side travels.

How I help

Three ways to work together.

Pick one or stack them. Most engagements start with Train, move into Implement, and graduate to Advise.

01 · Train
6 weeks

Train your team

Six-week cohort. Live sessions plus labs. Your team leaves with three working AI-native workflows already running, and the muscle to build the rest themselves.

  • Cohorts capped at 12 seats
  • For CAs, finance staff, bookkeepers
  • Three workflows shipped by graduation
See the syllabus
02 · Implement · Most popular
2–4 weeks

Implement with you

Done-with-you. I sit alongside your team for two to four weeks. We pick the workflows that hurt most. We rebuild them AI-native, in your own systems. We document everything. You own it.

  • In your stack: Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks
  • Your team in the room the whole time
  • Runbook and 30-day warranty included
Start an implementation
03 · Advise
monthly

Advise on retainer

Monthly retainer. Your team has a CA on call who knows AI without the hype. New tools, new methods, new use cases, new compliance updates. We meet, we ship, we move on.

  • Two strategy sessions a month
  • Slack/Teams access between sessions
  • Quarterly workflow reviews
Talk about a retainer
In practice

A typical month, restructured.

This is what an Implement engagement actually feels like, week by week. Same compliance, same controls, fewer weekends.

Week 1

I sit inside the work

Read-only access to your accounting system. I shadow the team for a week and document what hurts: which client takes too long, which return takes the most rework, which review meeting runs on too long.

Week 2

We pick the three that hurt most

Not ten. Three. The ones where AI changes the maths most. Usually a recon, a return prep, and a review draft. Scope written, signed off, fixed fee.

Weeks 3 – 4

We rebuild them, with you in the room

Daily working sessions. We use the AI tools your team can keep using. We write the SOP as we go. Every workflow has a CA-review checkpoint baked in.

Week 5 onward

Your team runs it

Handover, runbook, 30 days of warranty. Most teams come back to scope the next three workflows by month two.

The trust paragraph

Why a CA, not a tool.

AI tools don't sign off. CAs do.

I'm a Chartered Accountant. Every workflow I help your team build runs through CA judgement before it touches a real ledger. AI handles the volume. I handle the judgement. Your team holds the standard.

The difference between automation that scales and automation that earns you a client refund is whether the person designing it understands what an audit defence looks like. I do. That's the entire promise.

CA-ANZ qualified. Practising. Working in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and NetSuite for over a decade. Australian compliance is my home turf; global finance is my second.

Engagements

Real teams, anonymised.

Names changed, numbers representative, outcomes real. Three different shapes of engagement.

Australia Sole-to-small practice · Sydney

A two-partner practice cut BAS prep from 3 days to 4 hours per client

Two partners, six staff, 80 BAS clients per quarter. We rebuilt their BAS prep around AI-assisted GL review, automated GST reconciliation, and a CA-reviewed signoff sheet. Same compliance posture, six times the throughput.

A 12-person FP&A team standardised board pack drafting across 6 entities

A 25-person practice trained their whole team in six weeks

About

The Keen AI Accountant.

A Chartered Accountant working AI-native. Over a decade across Australian compliance and global finance work. The maths of the profession changed; this practice exists to help others catch up before the gap widens.

The Keen AI Accountant is how I help other practices and finance teams cross that bridge. Not by selling tools. By teaching the method, building it alongside them, and staying on call when they need a CA peer who actually uses this stuff every day.

This is not a competing accounting practice. It exists to make yours faster.

Working principles
  • CA judgement, always
No workflow ships without a CA-review checkpoint.
  • Read-only first
I never touch live ledgers without your team in the room.
  • Documented, every time
Every workflow ships with an SOP your team owns.
  • Train you out of needing me
Dependency is not the goal. Capability is.
FAQ

Questions worth asking.

If yours isn't here, put it in the brief form. I reply within 48 hours.

Are you trying to replace my accountant or my finance team?

No. I make the team you already have faster. I don't take on bookkeeping or compliance engagements directly. I train, I implement alongside you, and I advise. Your team owns the work.

Will this break our audit trail or controls?

Not the way I build them. Every workflow has a CA-review checkpoint, an evidence trail, and a documented SOP. I work the way an external auditor expects to see things working.

What stacks do you work in?

Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks (AU and global), NetSuite, Sage Intacct. For document handling: Dext, Hubdoc. For payments: Stripe, GoCardless. If your stack is different, tell me; the method travels.

What does it cost?

Cohort: AUD $497 self-paced, $1,495 live, $4,995 for a team of four. Implement: fixed fee per scope, typically AUD $8,000 to $22,000. Advise: monthly retainer, AUD $3,500 to $6,500 depending on cadence. Always quoted in writing before we start.

Do you only work in Australia?

Compliance work is Australia-only because that's where my licensure and my standards apply. Generic finance work (close, board packs, recons, vCFO support, migrations) I do for in-house finance teams anywhere. Sydney time zone is the anchor; async works for most of the build.

Is my client data safe?

Read-only access to start. No data leaves your systems without your approval. The full posture is in the engagement letter and signed off before any work begins.
